These butterflies seemed in extra abundance this summer. It was fortunate I had planted wild bergamot seeds in my Nana’s garden the summer before. The flowers sprung up to 4ft in height this summer and the white admirals seemed to enjoy them as there were many weeks the flowers were covered in these dark beauties. The deep browns and blue mosaic on the inside of their wings reminds me of something between stained glass and vintage velvet.
